I once stated that the Prince piece made me step out of my comfort zone. If that’s the case – this piece was like jumping off the comfort cliff. I wasn’t sure if could even bring myself to use the colour pink. Obviously Madonna’s music was never in high rotation at my place, however I could not deny the musical and cultural impact this mega star has had on pop culture. Her chameleon like ability to change with the times has allowed this songwriter, actress, author, director and entrepreneur to remain relevant throughout a career that has spanned over three decades. Often controversial however never apologetic, Madonna has established herself as an edgy pop pioneer that even a hard rock fan such as myself can respect.
