Jack White has influence me and my art style more than this short inspiration based paragraph can justify. In an era where it is getting harder to find true Rock N’ Roll icons, Jack has managed to not only fit that bill, but also represent the increasingly hard to find Blues icon at the same time. His preference for recording his gritty blues base rock on analog equipment rather than digital, play an important role on his sound and unique playing style. In his own words “Digital recording gives you all this freedom, all these options to change the sounds that you are putting down, and those for the most part are not good choices for an artist”. This statement alone sums up my feelings and attitude towards some of the advanced tools used now days in the fine arts – I guess for lack of a better term, I too, prefer to paint in analog!
