RM 006 TOURBILLON 505.45.91
- Movement Type: Tourbillon
Richard Mille RM 005 AUTOMATIC Watch 504.45.91: This titanium bezel case watch features automatic movement with unigue patented rotor system containing 18-carat gold ball bearings. Functions include hours, minutes and date. Also available in rose gold, white gold and titanium.
Herald at their intial release in 2001 as a break from the past and a new direction of horology, the wristwatches of Richard Mille were from their very inception, extraordinary and uncompromising.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF THE RICHARD MILLE TOURBILLON RM 006
For the first time in watchmaking history, Richard Mille created a movement baseplate in carbon nanofiber after years of research and development. The technical results were remarkable and the RM 006 in a limited edition of 20 pieces quickly sold out- but its influence on the collection remained strong. This led to the extended use of carbon nanofiber in the RM tourbillon range, as well as in the split seconds chronographs RM 004 and RM 008 that are now constructed on carbon nanofiber baseplates and numbered RM 004-V2 and RM 008-V2. Progress in this important area of development has now opened up a new era in watchmaking.
CALIBER RM 006: Manual winding tourbillon movement with hours and minutes.
Dimensions: Length 45 mm x 37.80 mm (widest point) x 12.05 mm (thickest area)
MAIN FEATURES
(MANY OF WHICH ARE MAJOR TECHNICAL INNOVATIONS)
CARBON NANOFIBER MOVEMENT PLATE
A composite material of carbon nanofibers, that becomes an isotrope possessing mechanical, physical and chemical stability when molded under high pressure. The movement plate has a ribbed perimeter that assures better rigidity between the plate and bridges. This carbon composite structure is also amorphous, chemically neutral and dimensionally stable within a wide range of temperatures.
MODULAR WINDING SYSTEM
By redesigning the winding system and placing it on the front of the movement plate in close proximity to the tourbillon, weight could be saved without compromising stability or strength.
SPLINE SCREWS IN GRADE 5 TITANIUM FOR THE BRIDGES AND CASE
This permits better control of the torque applied to the screws during assembly. These screws are therefore unaffected by physical manipulation during assembly or disassembly and age well.
WINDING BARREL TEETH AND THIRD-WHEEL PINION WITH CENTRAL INVOLUTE PROFILE
The central involute profile of the winding barrel teeth and pinion provides an optimal pressure angle of and 20°. This promotes effective rotary motion and allows for compensation of possible variations in the engagement of the going train, thus insuring excellent torque transmission with a distinct improvement in performance.
WEIGHT OF THE WATCH WITHOUT STRAP
42 grams.
