The Flatiron 1917: Signed and Numbered

Locals walk the streets of Madison Square near the Flatiron Building in New York City circa 1917.

Designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham and built in 1902, the distinctive wedge shape of the Flatiron Building stands out at intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway.  

The Flatiron Building, designed in the Beaux-Arts style, was built with a steel frame that was surrounded with limestone and terra-cotta.
