GIANT'S CAUSEWAY, IRELAND, 2010
Chris Hill
“I love the color of light at sunset: that golden consummation of the landscape. I took this in 2009, at the Giant’s Causeway, in County Antrim, on the north coast of Northern Ireland, with the Atlantic coming in. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site and probably the biggest tourist attraction in Ireland. There was a really big sea that night, and strong, clear light. I took about 200 shots over a couple of hours. This photograph was a three-second exposure so the sea has flattened out. There was no mist or fog; the sun was very direct and sharp. So it made for a brilliant picture.”
