The trees in the background are coiffed in the shape of wine bottles and the bushes up front are trimmed like bushels of grapes. Here, like in many of my paintings, there is a conflict between the grapes and the cork. The grape just found their perfect home and the cork is putting a sold sign on it, an attempt to make the close before the grapes, thus taking away the grapes’ dreams, yet again.
